If the thrill of horse racing is something which tickles your fancy, the Wellington race track, right across from Thermae Palace, is open to the public throughout summer. A historical hippodrome which first opened in 1883, the Wellington race track stages some 20 racing days each year, between June and September. Flat racing events include both trotting and pacing races.

In 2004, the Ostend Wellington Golf club moved into the racing ground, offering a driving range with 25 covered tee-off locations, a spacious putting and chipping green and a 6-hole trial course. Wellington Golf club is open to the wider public and is open all year round. Which makes Thermae Palace an ideal starting point for a golf trip to the Belgian seaside.
